What is a good free alternative to Resume Worded?

Same category, different emphasis
Resume Worded is a resume scoring and feedback product — you give it a resume, it returns a score and written suggestions. That is the same category we occupy with the free checker, so this is a fair comparison rather than a builder-versus-checker mismatch.
Where we differ is what we do with the file, what we show you, and what we think the score is for.
The extracted text is the output that matters
Most scorers report a number and a list of suggestions. We show you the text the extractor recovered from your file, because that text is the thing an employer's software stores, and a score computed over it can look fine while the text does not.
That is not a hypothetical. In our own study the same resume as a two-column PDF extracted to 19 lines instead of 25 — the sidebar spliced through the work history — and scored 98 anyway. Had we only shown the number, the reader would have concluded the file was fine.
Where the check runs
Our PDF and DOCX text extraction happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and no copy is stored. The single exception is opt-in and narrow: asking for a sample AI rewrite of one bullet sends that bullet and a short excerpt of the job description, and nothing is persisted.
If handing your resume to a service is not something you want to do before you have decided to trust it, that difference is the one that matters.
What a score is actually good for
A score is a way to compare your own drafts against each other. It is not a gate anyone is enforcing: no major ATS vendor publishes a threshold, and any tool implying that 74 fails and 75 passes has invented that line.
The seat we occupy is verification and memory — checking what software reads back out of your file, and keeping the record of what you did so a rewrite has something true to draw on. We are not trying to be a better writer than the assistant you already use.
We have not listed their pricing or feature tiers here, deliberately. We do not track them, and a stale price presented as current is worse than no price at all — check their site for anything that matters to your decision.

Is your checker free without an account?
Yes. The scan runs in your browser, requires no signup, and has no scan limit. Our paid plan raises AI limits elsewhere in the product and does not gate the checker.
Does my resume get uploaded anywhere?
No. PDF and DOCX extraction both run locally in the page, and nothing is stored. The one opt-in exception is requesting a sample rewrite of a single bullet, which sends that bullet and a short job-description excerpt and persists nothing.
Which score should I believe if two tools disagree?
Neither, as an absolute. Different tools weight different things and none of them is the system an employer runs. Use a score to compare your own versions, and use the extracted text — which is not a matter of opinion — to judge whether the file itself is sound.
Do you give written feedback on my bullets?
We show keyword gaps against a posting you paste and can produce a sample rewrite of one bullet on request. The deeper rewriting in our product is generated from your own recorded work rather than from the resume alone, which is a different approach to the same problem.
