Tailor Your Resume to a Job Description — Free
Paste the job description and your resume, and we rewrite the resume around that posting: what it asks for first, in the words it uses. We work only from what your resume already says, so the result is a version of you, not a stranger who fits the ad.
It is a resume tailor for one job at a time. It matches your resume to the job description you paste, it works the same whether you call it a resume or a CV, and you can try it without an account.
Example: what tailoring changes, and what it leaves out
A made-up posting and resume line, to show the rules we tailor by.
Job description
Customer Success Manager. You'll own renewals for a book of business accounts, run a quarterly review with each customer, and work with Product to reduce churn. Salesforce experience preferred.
Original bullet
Looked after 40 business customers. Held a review call with each one every quarter and passed their feature requests on to the product team. 37 of the 40 renewed in 2025.
Tailored bullet
Managed a book of 40 business accounts through renewal (37 of 40 renewed in 2025), running a quarterly review with each customer and taking their feature requests to the product team.
What changed
- Leads with renewals, because the posting does.
- Uses the posting's own words ("book of accounts", "renewal", "quarterly review") for things the original already says.
- Keeps both numbers exactly as given: 40 accounts, 37 renewals.
What stayed out
- Salesforce. The original never mentions it, so it stays out.
- A churn result. The original has no churn figure, so none is claimed.
How it works
1. Paste the job description
Copy the whole posting, not just the title. The responsibilities and requirements are what we tailor to.
2. Add your resume
Paste the text, or upload a PDF, Word (DOCX) or TXT file. You check what we read from it before anything is tailored.
3. Compare it with your original
The tailored resume appears next to your original, with a match score for the posting. Edit any line, then create a free account to copy, download or save it.
Before you tailor: common questions
Will it invent experience to match the job?
No. That is the rule we tailor by. The AI is instructed to work only from your resume: it can reorder, rephrase and use the posting's language for work you actually did, but every number has to come from your original, and a requirement you do not meet stays out. It is still an AI model, so read the result next to your original before you send it. That side-by-side view is there for exactly this.
Is it free, and what are the limits?
Yes. Without an account you get 2 AI credits a day, and a free account gets 5 a day; one tailoring run uses one credit. No card is needed for either. Pro is $9 a month or $59 a year and raises the limit to 50 credits a day.
Does it work for a CV as well as a resume?
Yes, it is the same tool. "Resume" is the usual word in the US and Canada, and "CV" is common in the UK, Europe and elsewhere for the same kind of document. We tailor from the text you give us, so CV tailoring works exactly like resume tailoring.
How is this different from pasting my resume into ChatGPT?
You can tailor a resume in ChatGPT. The difference is in the defaults: we work only from the resume you give us, show the result beside your original so every change is visible, and score it against the posting. With a free account, your tailored versions are saved to a resume library and your work history lives in one career diary, so the next application starts from everything you have done rather than what fits in one chat.
Do I need an account?
Not to try it. As a guest you can paste a job description and your resume, run the tailoring and read the result. To copy, download (PDF or Word) or save the tailored resume, you create a free account. No card is needed, and the profile you built as a guest moves into the new account.
What happens to my resume?
When you upload a file, the text is pulled out of it in your browser, and as a guest the file itself is not stored. To read and tailor your resume we send its text and the job description to our server and on to Google's Gemini model, with your email address and phone number masked first. As a guest, your tailored resume is not saved on our servers: your profile stays in your browser and the result is cleared when you close the tab. With a free account, your resume and tailored versions are saved to your account so you can come back to them.
Will a tailored resume get past applicant tracking systems?
Nobody can promise that, and we do not. What is known: an applicant tracking system stores your resume as fields, recruiters search those fields for terms from the posting, and knockout questions screen applicants before anyone reads a resume. Tailoring helps with the search part: where you really have the skill, it uses the posting's wording so a search can find it. It cannot fix a file that parses badly or answer a knockout question for you. To see what a parser reads from your file, use our free ATS resume checker.
